Bringing comfort, safety, and independence to seniors in Columbus—Right where they belong: Home

At I’ll Stay Home, we deliver expert therapy services and environmental modification guidance right where life happens—in our clients’ homes. We focus on empowering people to maintain independence, reduce age-related challenges, and stay engaged in the activities and environments that matter most to them.

What Sets Us Apart?

At I’ll Stay Home , we understand that staying safe and independent at home depends on more than just one thing. It’s a combination of:

Your Personal Abilities

Like strength, balance, or memory

The Activity Itself

How you’re doing it

Your Home Environment

Like lighting, layout, or furniture

These three parts are all connected. You can't solve one problem without thinking about the others. That’s why we always consider you, what you're doing, and where you're doing it when making recommendations.

Have You Experienced This Before?

You Need Help!

But don't know where to go or who to ask for help

You've reached out!

But the treatments provided weren't personalized to you.

You've worked with someone!

But you don't have the independence or safety you were hoping for.

Not only is it getting harder to live confidently and safely at home, but when you add into the equation that you have a corporate healthcare system that...

Provides a generic treatment plan, and doesn't personalize it to your wants...

Passes you between therapists and staff who never take time to learn your full story...

Prioritizes quantity over quality, which results in rushed visits and reduced attentiveness to individual needs...

Our goal is to create custom solutions that help you stay independent and safe at home — because your needs are unique, and so are our recommendations.

Services

Here's How We Can Help You

Home Safety Assessments

Our team conducts thorough assessments of your home environment to identify potential hazards and recommend modifications. We aim to create a safer living space that supports your mobility and daily activities.

Daily Living Skills Training

We focus on practical training to help you regain independence in everyday activities. Our therapists work with you on essential skills such as dressing, grooming, cooking, and home management, making these tasks more manageable and safe.

Pre-Surgery Home Evaluations

Before your joint replacement or spine surgery, we help you get ready to return home safely. A pre-surgery home assessment looks at your home setup and daily routines to spot any challenges you might face after surgery—like getting in and out of bed, using the bathroom, or moving around safely.

Caregiver Education and Support

We offer guidance and support to caregivers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to assist their loved ones effectively. Our goal is to ensure that caregivers feel confident and capable in their roles.

Chronic Condition Management

We provide specialized care for individuals managing chronic conditions such as arthritis, stroke, and neurological disorders. Our therapy plans are designed to alleviate symptoms, improve function, and enhance your quality of life.

Compassionate and Personalized Care

Accessibility and Convenience

Emphasis on Education and Training

We help you feel better, move better, and do the things that matter most — from getting dressed with ease to navigating your home safely. With a deep understanding of how the body works and how your environment affects your function, we’re here to help you stay strong, confident, and at home.

Hi, I’m Kelly, the founder of I’ll Stay Home— a mobile occupational therapy practice focused on helping people live safely and confidently in their own homes.

After earning my undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, I completed my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis. I spent over a decade working in acute care, where I saw the same frustrating pattern: people were only getting help after a fall, a hospitalization, or a crisis. I started this practice because I believe we can do better.

Today’s healthcare system is moving too quickly — prioritizing quantity over quality — and I made the choice to step away from that. My goal is to provide thoughtful, one-on-one care that truly supports people in aging in place, preventing injury, and doing the things that matter most to them.

I completed the HARP training through WashU and hold the Executive Certificate in Home Modifications through USC. I use that training to make homes safer and daily routines more manageable — so that you or your loved one can remain independent for as long as possible.

When I’m not working, I’m likely in the garden, baking something with sourdough, or taking orders from my 2-year-old niece.

I’m so glad you’re here — I’d love to help you feel safer and more confident at home.

FAQS

How do I know if occupational therapy is right for me?

Occupational therapy is a great fit if you're looking for support not only with physical challenges like balance, mobility, or daily tasks — but also with making your home safer and more supportive of your needs. If you're finding it harder to move around your home, use certain rooms safely, or perform everyday activities with confidence, an occupational therapist can help.

We assess your space and recommend practical home modifications — from grab bars and lighting to layout changes — that make aging in place safer, easier, and more comfortable.

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, our therapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your needs and goals. This includes discussing your medical history, current challenges, and lifestyle. Based on this assessment, we will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

In Ohio, you do not need a physician's referral to begin occupational therapy services. You can directly access care to address your needs. However, if you plan to use insurance to cover therapy services, a referral or prescription from your doctor is often helpful—and sometimes required—by your insurance provider. This can ensure smoother billing and reimbursement processes.

If you're unsure whether your insurance requires a referral, we’re happy to help you check and guide you through the next steps.

How does in-home therapy work?

In-home therapy allows you to receive professional occupational therapy services in your own home. Our therapists bring all necessary equipment and tailor the therapy sessions to your home environment, making it more convenient and relevant to your daily life.

What is Aging in Place?

Aging in place means staying in your own home safely, independently, and comfortably as you get older. It’s about making the right changes—whether to your environment, your daily routines, or your support system—so you can keep living life on your terms.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept various insurance plans and can assist you in understanding your coverage and benefits. Please contact us with your insurance information, and we’ll help determine your eligibility and any out-of-pocket costs.

How can I prepare for my in-home therapy sessions?

To prepare for your in-home therapy sessions, ensure you have a safe and clutter-free space where the therapist can work with you. Your therapist will provide any additional instructions based on your individual treatment plan.

How do you ensure the quality and safety of your services?

Our licensed and experienced therapists adhere to the highest standards of care. We regularly update our practices based on the latest research and guidelines in occupational therapy. Additionally, we follow strict hygiene and safety protocols to protect our clients and staff.

If you have any other questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us. We're here to help you every step of the way!
